Rock in Rio sets unprecedented stage in front of Belém Tower

Festival celebrates 15 years in Portugal with free mega show including concerts by James, Ivete Sangalo and Orchestra with Maestro Rui Massena, as well as video mapping and fireworks.

The event will take place from September 6th to 8th at the Belém Tower, where a 534m2 20-ton stage will be set up in the shape of the mythical red guitar.
Already known are the times of the event that marks the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of Rock in Rio in Portugal. On September 6th, 7th and 8th, Torre de Belém hosts a majestic show, with free admission, for which a special stage was created in the form of the mythical red guitar of the festival born in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro.

 

 

The show, composed daily by a concert, a video mapping projection and fireworks, will take place at 21h00, and the audience can arrive early and thus guarantee the best place in the event that will mobilize the city. From 18h00 there will be street animations in this one of the most privileged places of the capital – the gardens of Torre de Belém.
On the first day (September 6), the alignment will be special. Conductor Rui Massena presents and directs “Symphonic_15”, a symphonic concert featuring 60 musicians who will perform some of the greatest musical hits of the 860 artists and bands who have passed through Bela Vista Park over eight editions. This unprecedented concert, created especially by the Portuguese Maestro for this occasion, will be accompanied, simultaneously, by the video mapping projection and the largest firework ever seen on the Tagus River.
In the remaining days (September 7th and 8th), the show will start with video mapping, projected on the three faces of the Belém Tower, telling the story of more than a decade of Rock in Rio in Portugal. This is followed by the James (September 7) and Ivete Sangalo (September 8) concerts, ending each day with a fireworks show, recalling one of the most emblematic moments of all editions. in Rock City.

It is worth remembering that this event appears as part of the celebration calendar of 15 years of Rock in Rio in Portugal, being the highlight of a year of a big party. This calendar included a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s cultural offer, creating new entertainment content relevant to the general public outside the Parque da Bela Vista. Live or via digital platforms, the various events already developed this year reached millions of people: Worten Game City, the country’s first gaming city born in Cordoaria Nacional in May, reached over 2 million people, with 830 content published on social networks. The Galp Music Valley Sessions, which took place at the Capitol during the months of April and May, reached over 3 million people, with the videos of these concerts reaching 1,168,402 views to date. Later this year, in July, Lisbon hosted the 2nd edition of Rock in Rio Innovation Week @LACS which was attended by over 2,000 people focused on personal and professional challenges and opportunities in a constantly changing world. Education was one of the featured themes, attended by over 100 teachers from all over the country.
