The ballet “Romeo and Juliet” by the Quorum Ballet company premiered yesterday at Maria Matos, a classic not to be missed.
Daniel Cardoso continues his work of revisiting great classics, after “Swan Lakes” and “Le Sacre du printemps”, it was the turn of “Romeo and Juliet”.
The show that is on stage until tomorrow at Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon will also pass through Porto on the 29th at the Coliseu do Porto Ageas.
This new version of “Romeo and Juliet” takes us into the world of romantic love, a love that nothing and no one can destroy. A love that is blind, a kind of love so strong that even death cannot be overcome.
“Romeo and Juliet” is recognized by most cultures as the greatest love story of all time.
Daniel Cardoso’s choreography, alongside Sergei Prokofiev’s music, aims to question the audience about what is most precious in our lives and what we often forget… Love.
The show originally premiered in 2020, at Cineteatro João V in Amadora, followed by a tour of Denmark, it is now back in Lisbon and Porto.
