Rui Costa in 3rd in the sixth stage of the Vuelta
Portuguese cyclist Rui Costa (UAE Emirates) was this Sunday third in the sixth stage of the Tour of Spain by bicycle, with Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (INEOS) taking the lead in the individual overall.
In a total of 146.4 kilometers between Biescas and Formigal, the sixth stage was won by the Spanish Ion Izagirre (Astana), after 3: 41.00 hours, 25 seconds ahead of the Canadian Michael Woods (Education First), second, and Rui Costa, who closed the podium.
Overall, Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) relented, dropping to fourth place and leaving the red jersey for Carapaz, who now leads 18 seconds ahead of Briton Hugh Carthy (Education First), second, and 20 for the Irish Dan Martin (Israel Start-Up Nation), third.
