Rui Fernandes performs in a quartet on November 23, at 9:30 pm, at the Teatro de Vila Real, where he will present 8 new themes, in addition to the usual repertoire with the viola Amarantina.
The musician from Vila Real has been dedicated to creating original compositions with the clear purpose of showing that this instrument has much more capacity than the label that is glued to it to serve only to be used in popular or traditional music formations.
Rui Fernandes explores timbres, techniques, chords and arpeggios building in each song a huge and surprising variety of musical moments that increased when inviting the trio of musicians: Pedro Neves, piano, Miguel Ângelo, double bass and Ricardo Coelho, percussionist. Thus, in addition to a solo concert, the Rui Fernandes Quarteto formation is born to build a concert with unique characteristics that aim first to promote the viola amarantina, contributing to knowing that, despite the name, this is a viola of the world.
