“Parents’ House” is the first single from a new album arriving on October 17th.
Rui Massena returns with the single “Parents’ House,” which gives its name to his new album, scheduled for release on October 17th. This solo piano song, with a neoclassical sound, reflects a deep dimension of nostalgia and introspection. The song transports us to the artist’s personal universe, as he himself describes it: “This is my most intimate journey: my parents’ house and the house where I am a father today. It is the most beautiful and challenging cycle of life.”
Rui Massena’s new album will be presented in three special concerts, which also mark the pianist, composer, and conductor’s 10-year career.
The performances will take place on the following dates:
- December 10, Casa da Música, Porto
- December 11, Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon
- December 16, Fórum Braga
“Parents’ House” and its accompanying album mark a new stage in Rui Massena’s career, as he continues to explore and deepen his unique style of instrumental composition.
The new album follows the already highly successful solo albums, including Solo (2015), Ensemble (2016), III (2018, released worldwide by Deutsche Grammophon), the EP 20PERCEPTION (2021, also with Deutsche Grammophon), and the Christmas Walk (2021).
