Singer-songwriter RUMIA presents ‘Shift in the Air’, the latest single from her upcoming album, Old Enough To Save Myself, due for release on April 4th.
With a sleek production that combines delicate synths and organic elements, ‘Shift in the Air’ is an intimate reflection on loss, change and disorientation. It is through Rumia’s vocal interpretation, full of sensitivity and vulnerability, that we are led through this emotional journey.
‘Shift in the Air’ explores a disturbing scenario, where the protagonist, trapped in a simulation, realizes that her loved one has disappeared from the world. On your usual route home, small changes begin to appear: the book you read on the bus is no longer the same, your favourite restaurant has become a model aeroplane store, and the family atmosphere gradually becomes stranger. As the song progresses, the tension intensifies, culminating in an open-ended outcome: when you get home, will that person still be there?
RUMIAThe music video that accompanies the theme was directed by Silvia Coca and features photography direction by Alex Arteaga.
‘Shift in the Air’ is now available on all digital platforms.
