Safari Zone, Bombazine, EN1 and Raiva Rosa in the Metamorfose’23 semi-final

The classification decision for the Metamorfose’23 Festival begins with a semi-final, which will take place on September 16th.
After the concerts by Safari Zone, Bombazine, EN1, and Raiva Rosa — during the band’s performance at the Rock On Academy, the public and jury will decide the fourth and third places and the two finalists who will return to the stage on the night of September 22nd.
The decision of the two finalists of Metamorfose’23 Soure, who will compete on the night of September 22nd, at the São Mateus festival, for first and second places, begins on September 16th, Saturday, at 9:30 pm, with a semi-final with the band’s Safari Zone, Bombazine, EN1, and Raiva Rosa. At the end of the performances, it will be up to the audience present and the Metamorfose’23 jury (composed of Carlos Cunha, Jessica Cipriano, João Paulo Castanheira, and Eduardo Santiago) to score each of these projects that qualify for prizes worth a total of 3,000.00 Euros. Voting will take place during the performance of the youth band from Soure, prepared during two weeks of training, with free access, at the 2nd edition of Academia Metamorfose — Rock On, which will perform on the 16th and 22nd of September. The semi-final takes place within the scope of Pangeia, Municipal Youth Festival, which takes place in Parque de Bacelos, in Soure. Entry is free.
The Metamorfose Festival, co-organized since last year by the Coimbra Music Academy and the Municipality of Soure, received 55 applications in this edition, from which the jury selected the eight projects — Bombazine, Cobra ao Pescoço, Eduardo Branco, EN1, Leo the Painter, Raiva Rosa, Safari Zone and Sleep Therapy —, who performed in live programs between July 10th and 20th.
8923 viewers watched the live performances of these projects, in eight programs that totaled 2335 hours of viewing. More than 3,500 voted on the website festivalmetamorfose.com for their favorite musical project, between the 21st and 24th of July, during which the jury also scored the candidates. Those chosen to perform in the semi-final were Safari Zone, Bombazine, EN1, and Raiva Rosa.
Lisbon’s Safari Zone is an indie rock band that takes the public on an immersive journey, with songs that are introspective journeys. Bombazine also arrives from the capital, with songs made of «pure friendship, rhythm, good mood, and comfortable shoes». EN1 is a band from Leiria, with a style where rock is predominant, with distortion, solos, and power chords. Raiva Rosa arrives from Bragança, formed in 2019, with rock as its essence, and released their first album this year, «O Gato Matou a Curiosidade».
THE METAMORFOSE FESTIVAL
In 2021, the Coimbra Music Academy created the Metamorfose Festival to give a stage and audience to new talents. The competitors performed in a studio, with the concerts being broadcast in live streaming. For the final classification, data from live viewing, the votes of a jury composed of four members and the general public were counted. After the pandemic, the concept evolved and the Festival began to be co-organized with the Municipality of Soure. The dimension of a national music competition, open to the participation of solo or group projects, with original compositions, was joined by the live performance of the four finalists. And the monetary prizes with a total value of three thousand euros remained.!
