SAINt JHN confirmed at Sumol Summer Fest
It is good to think about the holidays when you know that they start at Sumol Summer Fest with thousands of festival-goers together celebrating at the rhythm of “IT’S WHAT YOU ARE”. A lot of the music that has marked this rhythm has been hip hop. world arrives SAINt JHN one of the most promising rappers of the moment who promises to bring his powerful rhymes to Ericeira Camping, on the 3rd of July at the Sumol Stage.
SAINt JHN
SAINt JHN is the musical signature of Carlos St. John, one of the rappers of the moment. The young man grew up between New York and Guyana, marked by two very different realities and aware of the social asymmetries existing in the world. When he realized the strength of the words, there was no going back – music was the way to go. His career started with writing for other voices, such as Kiesza (“Bad Thing”, “The Love”, “Piano”), Gorgon City (“Doubts”), Usher (“Crash”), among others who benefited from the talent of this young man from Brooklyn. This work for other artists was something he continued to do at the same time that he started to design his own path, mainly from the year 2016, with the release of “1999” on Soundcloud. Within a few months, themes like “Roses”, “Reflex”, “3 Below” and “Some Nights” showed that SAINt JHN’s talent was to be taken very seriously, both by the public and by critics. In 2018 he released the single “I Heard You Got Too Litt Last Night”, a theme that anticipated the edition of his first album “Collection One”. Influenced by names like Beenie Man and Jay-Z, SAINt JHN dominates the r & b language, at the same time that he assumes himself as one of the most original voices of the trap, made today, always with Caribbean influences. SAINt JHN says he makes the music he wants to hear but the millions of streams and concerts everywhere, prove that the music the rapper wants to hear also pleases crowds around the world. And the Portuguese public will also be in tune with the rapper’s sensitivity on July 3rd at the Sumol Stage of the Sumol Summer Fest.
