Chinese tennis player Saisai Zheng, 27, won the Portugal Ladies Open this Sunday, in Caldas da Rainha, having defeated French Harmony Tan, in three sets, by 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3, placing, thus, an end to the fast of titles that had lasted for more than two years.
For the title at the Portugal Ladies Open, the Chinese tennis player received a ceramic piece from the Bordalo Pinheiro factory, from the hands of Pedro Raposo, Councilor for Sports at the City Council of Caldas da Rainha, and the biggest slice (about 7,000 euros) of the prize. money total of around 51,200 thousand euros.
In pairs, the title went to the Japanese Momoko Kobori and Hiroko Kuwata, who defeated the British Alicia Barnett and Olivia Nicholls in the final, by 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/2). For their first title together, Kobori and Kuwata received a cash prize of around 2,600 euros.
