The first concert in September at the Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite will be performed by Salvador Sobral, on the 17th at 9 pm.
Musician and composer, he lived in the USA, Mallorca and Barcelona (where he studied jazz for two years at the prestigious Taller de Musics school).
In 2017, he participated in the Festival da Canção, interpreting Amar pelo Dois, signed by his sister, singer-songwriter Luísa Sobral. His sensitive interpretation of the theme would earn him victory at the Eurovision Festival that year, obtaining the highest score ever and gathering widespread applause from around the world for his participation.
Amar pelo Dois represented a break with the musical formats in force at the event, and is still one of the most listened to songs in the world. In early 2019, he released his second album, Paris, Lisboa, and at the end of that year he edited the first album of the Alma Nuestra project.
At the beginning of 2020, he took to the stage of the CCB, Casa da Música and Teatro Aveirense the concert cycle Salvador Sobral sings Brel – a meeting that stems from a clear elective affinity. Salvador Sobral appears in a quintet with a new album and new songs. Composed throughout 2020, in partnership with Leo Aldrey, this is his first record composed entirely of original themes by him.
