Salvador Sobral sings Brel in 3 unique shows in February 2020: day 7 in Lisbon, CCB; 8th in Porto, at Casa da Música, and 10th, in Aveiro, at Aveirense Theater.
The famous chanson française refers to a musical universe with a singular language where the word takes a primordial role in the construction of the songs.
Jacques Brel is a basic name of French-speaking culture with a stamp printed in various artistic manifestations, ranging from cinema to music.
It was at last that he affirmed his identity as one of the most consecrated interpreters of the last century – crossing the borders of his native Belgium and of France that welcomed him. A storyteller (both through word and intensity of his performances) who fell in love with Salvador Sobral from an early age and led him to create this cycle of concerts where the proposal is explained in the title: sing Brel.
In order to achieve this, he surrounded himself with musicians who understand this musical language in all its complexity and richness.
Accompanying him are Samuel Lercher (piano), Nelson Cascais (double bass), Joel Silva (drums), André Santos (guitar), Inês Vaz (accordion), Diogo Duque (trumpet and flutes) and Ana Cláudia Serrão (cello).
