Samsung unveils its new lineup of TVs for 2022
- MICRO LED, Neo QLED and Lifestyle TVs include the latest advances in picture quality, sound technology and smart functionality;

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. unveiled its latest MICRO LED, Neo QLED and Lifestyle TVs. With improved picture and sound quality, more screen size options, customizable accessories and an updated interface, the 2022 screens aim to bring the ‘Screens Everywhere, Screens for All’ vision closer to everyday life with more images realistic, immersive sound and hyper-personalized experiences.
MICRO LED: The Pinnacle of Display Technology
As Samsung’s next-generation display, MICRO LED delivers industry-leading picture quality thanks to 25 million micrometres of LED that individually produce light and colour, creating an incredibly immersive experience through the stunning depth of field, vibrant colours and a high level of brightness and contrast. At CES 2022, Samsung unveiled the MICRO LED in three different sizes – 110″, 101″, and 89″.
In addition to hardware innovations, the MICRO LED 2022 supports 20 bits of greyscale depth. This means that MICRO LED models can express every detail of a scene, offering control with over 1 million levels of brightness and colour, providing a true HDR experience. It also displays 100% of the DCI and Adobe RGB colour gamut, resulting in stunning, more realistic colours. Along with the immersive design, made possible by its 99.99% screen/body ratio, the MICRO LED offers revolutionary performance.
The MICRO LED comes equipped with improved usability and customization features:
Art Mode enables consumers to turn any room into an art gallery as they can select and display their favourite artwork or digital photographs. The MICRO LED 2022 also comes with two exclusive pieces from renowned artist and designer, Refik Anadol.
- Multi-View allows users to view content from four different sources simultaneously – from any or all four HDMI ports – at a pure 4K resolution up to 120fps.
- Dolby Atmos delivers an immersive premium audio experience with top, side and bottom channel speakers that deliver breathtaking multidimensional sound.
Evolution of Neo QLED with Neo Quantum Processor and Dynamic Sound Experience
Thanks to the Neo Quantum Processor and advances in image and sound technology, the Neo QLED 2022 televisions will offer more natural images and landscapes and even more immersive sound quality. In fact, this year’s Neo Quantum Processor introduces advanced contrast mapping with BLU (backlight unit), raising the brightness level from 12 to 14-bit gradation, thus providing greater control over the light source – the Quantum Mini LEDs. This allows the TV to control its lighting in 16,384 steps, four times the previous version’s 4,096 steps.
The new Shape Adaptive Light technology uses the Neo Quantum processor to analyze lines, shapes and surfaces to control the shape of light from Quantum Mini LEDs, increasing the brightness and accuracy of every shape on the screen. The result is superb image quality that puts all HDR content on the screen. Samsung’s Neo QLED 2022 also features Real Depth Enhancer, a multi-intelligence image quality algorithm. This technological advancement creates a greater sense of realism by determining and processing an on-screen object against its background to create a sense of depth.
In addition, Samsung’s new Neo QLED 2022 introduces the EyeComfort mode, which automatically adjusts the screen’s brightness and tone based on an integrated light sensor and sunlight information. As the ambient light changes, the screen will gradually reduce the amount of light and offer warmer tones, adjusting blue light levels accordingly. This allows for a more comfortable viewing experience at night by reducing blue light that can affect sleep quality.
The Neo QLED’s sonic characteristics will also receive a major update. Building on the OTS (Object Tracking Sound), which directs sound to move along with the object on the screen, the 2022 products will feature the OTS Pro, which incorporates powerful speakers to create aerial surround sound. New TVs deliver a truly remarkable Dolby Atmos experience, thanks to the inclusion of Samsung’s new top-channel speakers. With multi-channel speakers placed throughout the TV, Neo QLED delivers a dynamic sound experience that accompanies actions from every angle.
The award-winning Lifestyle televisions with seamless integration of Design and Technology
Samsung Lifestyle 2022 TVs seamlessly blend design and technology for a unique, personalized experience. A new matte screen with anti-glare, anti-glare and anti-fingerprint properties has been introduced on The Frame and The Sero, which will result in one of the most pleasant and comfortable viewing experiences in this category. As a result, the new matte display on the Samsung 2022 Lifestyle screens has received three UL (Underwriter Laboratories) certifications for being ‘Reflection Glare Free’, ‘Discomfort Glare Free’ and ‘Disability Glare Free’.
The New Smart Hub and Apps for the End User Experience
Samsung’s Smart TVs 2022 come with a new Smart Hub that puts content curation and discovery at the heart of your viewing preferences. The new Smart Hub will guide users to their favourite content or help them discover something new while spending less time searching. Smart Hub’s sidebar also allows a seamless transition between categories – Media and Environment – allowing users to focus on various activities at home.
Watch Together: The new application allows users to chat on a video call with friends and family while watching their favourite shows and movies, ensuring that everyone is closer, even from a distance.
NFT Platform: This application features an intuitive and integrated platform to discover, buy and market digital artwork through MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame.
Smart Calibration: This feature allows users to fine-tune settings for optimal image quality. Basic mode provides a quick and easy way to calibrate screens in 30 seconds, while Professional mode optimizes screens for pristine image quality in about 10 minutes.
Accessory and Customized Options for Users’ Needs
The 2022 models also come with a set of accessories to customize the user experience. The Auto-Rotating Stand and Wall Bracket inherited from The Sero’s vertical viewing experience, allow users to enjoy mobile viewing by automatically rotating their screens.
To complement the list of accessories, the 2022 products will support a vertical interface, including Smart Hub, and offer vertical MultiView functionality. It will offer apps like YouTube and TikTok, as well as Mirror Mode in vertical format. Finally, features like Ambient Mode+ and Art Mode are also available in portrait mode.
Breaking Sound Barriers with the Latest Soundbar
The 2022 Soundbar alignment has received technology updates to deliver an even more immersive three-dimensional audio experience. Q-Symphony functionality, Samsung’s signature surround sound experience that allows the brand’s Neo QLEDs and Soundbars to work together, has been enhanced with additional sync. This ensures that the Soundbar and TV speakers work simultaneously, including the speakers for the upper channels, providing a more expansive and powerful sound environment.
The Samsung 2022 Soundbars come with Dolby Atmos³ wireless connectivity, a wireless connection for both the display and the soundbar speakers.
In addition, the new Soundbar HW-S800B Ultra Slim sets the standard in the soundbar category by delivering powerful sound quality in a more compact form factor. Integrates passive radiator technology with your subwoofer. The new ultra-thin soundbar delivers premium sound at 1.6″ deep.
