Samuel Úria solo at the Maria Matos Theater

Samuel Úria presented, on his own, his new album “Canções do Pós-Guerra“, at Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon, having throughout the night “chatting” with his audience about the various themes of the songs.

For a sold-out room, he told us that he was “promoting a melancholic record” of romantic songs.

Samuel Úria was the author of these new themes, as well as of the musical arrangements, seeking inspiration from what stimulates him in his daily life, in his own life, in the cinema. Romantic, Love, Life and Death, Tragedy and Hope lyrics, lyrics that make us think.

Úria is one of the most talented singers of his generation, with a unique ability to take the stage and create memories to preserve. So the night started with the sound of a version of “Cantiga de Abrigo” from the album “Canções do Pós Guerra”.

From the same album, we heard “Guerra e Paz“, “A Contenção”, in a warm version and with the audience singing, we heard “O Muro” and “Fica Aquém“.

But it was not only about this new album that Úria sang, to the delight of her audience, she also brought us themes from her older albums:

From the album “Voz e Guitarra 2” we heard “Para Ninguém”.

“Espalha Brasas”, “Lenço Enxuto”, and in a melancholic tone we heard the song “Em Caso de Fogo”, all from the 2013 album “O Grande Medo do Pequeno Mundo”.

This was followed by “Sinais”, a song that Úria and Helder Gonçalves wrote for the Clans and which was recorded for the album “Canções do Pós Guerra – solo”.

From 2016 and from the album “Carga de Ombro” she sang “Dou-me Corda” and “ÉÉ Preciso Que Eu Diminua”

From the EP “Marcha Atrás“, from 2018 we heard and sang the themes “Mãos“, “Não arrastes o meu Caixão” from the album “Nem lhe tocava“, from the EP “Em Bruto“, sang “Teimoso” and also “Barbarella e Barba Rala” 2015 of the Portuguese project, in which Úria participated, “They’re Heading West“.

De Márcia played, sang and enchanted a beautiful ballad “Amor Segundo”, also from the album “Canções do Pós Guerra – solo”.

To the sound of the voice and guitar, banjo, viola the audience sang and lived a memorable night, having at the end of the concert paid a heartfelt tribute to the singer, who responded with a few dance steps.
