Samuel Úria and Stereosaurus nominated for the Play 2021 Awards

The nominees for the 3rd edition of the Play – Portuguese Music Awards were already revealed, in a celebration of the diversity of national production and in recognition of the work of the Portuguese artistic community.

Samuel Úria and Stereossauro, artists published by Valentim de Carvalho, are nominated.

Samuel Úria is nominated in the category of Best Male Artist, highlighting Samuel’s activity in 2020, the year in which he published “Canções do Pós-Guerra” and presented him live across the country, highlighting the concerts held at Casa da Música, in Porto, and in Lisbon, at the Teatro Tivoli BBVA. Samuel Úria is able, like few others, to combine a lyrical, inspired and quite idiosyncratic vision of the world, with a plastic and inventive musicality, which either drinks in the most popular music, flies by more erudite references or dives into the most alternative indie.

Stereosaurus is nominated in the categories Vodafone Song of the Year and Best Music Video, with the theme “A Noite”, in which she collaborates with Marisa Liz and Carlão. The video was made by Bruno Ferreira. From a sample of “Lisboa Menina e Moça”, by Paulo de Carvalho, it grabs us by the wrist and harmonizes the happy meeting of generations and tribes, deconstructing more traditional aesthetics, keeping all the essence and very Portuguese emotion, while renewing the its lines of force, establish connections and weave complicity with today’s music.

The delivery of the Play – Portuguese Music Awards takes place on the 8th of July.
