Santa Casa Alfama Festival starts today with Mariza, Fafá Belém and more
The fado festival takes place over Friday and Saturday, on five stages installed in the neighborhood, and has the exhibition “Bem-Vinda Sejas, Amália”, at the Lisbon Cruise Terminal.
The career of Amália Rodrigues (1920-1999) is also the subject of a “videomapping” to be projected, on Friday and Saturday, at 20:45, 21:00, 21:45 and 22:00, on the facade of Terminal, Santa Apolónia.
Today, at the main stage of the Terminal, the trio of guitarist Custódio Castelo will perform at 20:00, Duarte at 21:00, Maria Emília at 22:00, José Gonçalez, with Fafá Belém, and at 11:45 pm, Mariza.
In addition to this stage, the Cruise Terminal also has another one on the terrace, which joins the others: one at the Fado Museum, intended for amateur fado singers, another at the Chafariz de Dentro square, outside the museum, and the Amália stage, installed in the auditorium of the Abreu Advogados offices, where André Baptista sings on Friday at 11:30 pm and Vânia Duarte at 22:15.
On Saturday, the second and last day of the festival, the poster includes the show “Celebrate Amália 100 years later”, at 11:45 pm, on the stage of the Cruise Terminal, in which former diva musician Jorge Fernando and the singers participate Katia Guerreiro, Rui Veloso, Marco Rodrigues, Sara Correia and André Amaro.
Filipa Cardoso (22:00), José Geadas (21:00) and Júlio Resende, who presents “Carta para Amália” (19:00), also perform on this stage on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, on the terrace of the Terminal, Beatriz Felício (17:00), Miguel Moura (17:45), Tiago Correia, Maura, Joana Almeida and Buba Espinho, perform “Fado em Boas Mãos” (18:30) , and Hélder Moutinho (20:45).
On the stage Amália sing, on this second and last day, Catarina Rocha and Francisco Salvação Barreto.
The festival has the presentation, on the stage of the Largo do Chafariz de Dentro, of the Escola de Fado Amador e Criatrivo de Alverca, on Friday, at 20:00, and on Saturday, at the same time, of the Escola de Fado do Clube Lisboa Amigos do Fado.
