Popular Saints continue at the Hotel Real Palácio with “Saint Saturday”

Proving that popular festivals can and should be celebrated even at the Palace, the Hotel Real Palácio reminds us that “Santo Antônio is over”, but that São Pedro and São João are still to come.

The celebrations continue in Lisbon with “Saint Saturday” in the form of a party on Saturday and a special brunch on Sundays, with a special “corner” of the Saints and typical specialities.

Lisbon does not say goodbye to Popular Saints with Santo Antônio. At the Hotel Real Palácio, the party continues every Saturday in June, from 6 pm to 11 pm, with old-fashioned festivals: celebrated at the Palace, but with a local touch, because the Popular Saints are also celebrated in comfort, as long as the common denominator is the flavors, sounds and the very popular festival that evoke the city’s most festive season.

Thus, the terrace of the Real Cozinha restaurant transforms itself into a stage for typically Portuguese flavours and sounds, with the relaxed atmosphere that is already a signature of the restaurant. Each Saturday will feature a menu of popular snacks, served with a homemade touch that transports us to the heart of Lisbon’s festivals. Portuguese popular music is not lacking in entertainment on the night of each “Saint Saturday” at the Hotel Real Palácio, with rhythms that invite you to dance and celebrate summer outdoors, with friends, family and among our visitors who have chosen Lisbon for their vacation.

The menu for the Saint Saturday at the Palace celebrates the most typical flavours of the Popular Saints, with highlights including grilled sardines, caldo verde, bifanas, snails, grilled chouriço and gizzards. There are also options such as prego em bolo do caco, croquettes, pica-pau veal and fresh salads to balance these flavours. To sweeten the night, the farófias, rice pudding, pastel de nata and the obligatory Doce do Antônio end the festivities with traditional flavours. All accompanied by red, white or sparkling wine sangria, as well as other drinks that promise to cheer you up.

To prolong the festive spirit, the Sunday brunch at the Hotel Real Palácio will have a special corner dedicated to popular snacks during June. There are also themed activities designed for children, making the experience even more complete for families, who can even bring their pets as it is a Pet-Friendly brunch and also a charity brunch, supporting the Animalife association.
