São Brás de Alportel advances with the social project “Raízes”

A project integrated into the “Healthy Neighborhoods” Program, it aims to help take root and germinate a future. The activities plan includes the Exchange Market whose first edition in São Brás de Alportel is scheduled for this Sunday, the 6th.

The construction of life projects and social and professional integration are objectives of the Raízes Project, which is being implemented in the territory of São Brás de Alportel, having started its work with an open day at the Multipurpose Space of the João Rosa Beatriz Social Neighborhood.

This is a project integrated into the Healthy Neighborhoods Program promoted, in partnership by the Parish and the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, under the coordination of IPSS Local, Center for Culture and Sports Workers of the City Council and the Parish Council of São Brás. from Alportel. The Salvation Army’s local Nucleus and the In Loco Association join the partnership in a project that aims to involve the community.

Promoting the development of the participants’ skills, supporting them in the construction of their life project and in their social and professional integration are goals that are intended to be achieved with a work of social education and motivation to a process of knowledge and use of resources, individually and in groups, enabling them to become agents of their own change.

It is intended that participants gain roots and tools to be able to create their own path. This mission is pursued in six activities, namely: GPS – Generating Success Paths; Living Accounts – Financial Education and Home Management; Knowing with Flavor – Promotion of Health and quality of life; Active Voice – Civic Participation and Volunteering; Solidarity Garden – From Earth to Table; and, Exchange Market – Social and Solidarity Economy.

The Exchange Market is promoted in partnership with the Exchange Market Association. Its first edition in São Brás de Alportel is scheduled for this Sunday morning, the 6th, at the Arts and Crafts Center. The initiative will take place on a monthly basis.

The project is aimed at people in situations of vulnerability/social exclusion for different reasons, from low levels of education to precarious work situations or unemployment, as well as low socioeconomic status, the lack of definition or non-existence of life projects or even low participation. civic/occupational void.

Within the scope of this project, works are being carried out in the space of the former headquarters of the Parish of São Brás de Alportel to constitute a support space for the community.
