São Brás de Alportel marks International Forest Day with the youngest
The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and the José Belchior Viegas Group of Schools marked, in partnership, the International Forest Day, with a sensitization action in defense of the forest that included the planting of a tree, a symbolic gesture, which it intends to launch a message for the future, with the participation of a class from the 1st cycle of the municipality.
A special moment in which the 4th year students of the Basic School EB1/JI had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge about the importance of trees for the environmental and planet balance and assumed the commitment to be defenders in the defense of the forest!
The long awaited planting took place in the premises of Escola EB 2.3 Poeta Bernardo de Passos, for which a plane tree was chosen.
The action counted on the participation of the Mayor, Vitor Guerreiro, and the Director of the School Group José Belchior Viegas, Nídia Amaro, who invited young people to follow the growth of this tree that will make part of their stories from now on and of the history of all and they conveyed to these little ambassadors of the future that in the protection of the environment and natural resources everyone has a role to play.
