Sara Correia was the big surprise at The Voice Kids Gala, last night. The fado singer was announced as the new mentor of the 2nd edition of The Voice Gerações, going to partner with the already repeating Anselmo Ralph, Mickael Carreira and Simone de Oliveira.
There was a very special moment for the announcement: Sara Correia sang “Cheira Bem, Cheira a Lisboa” with all the contestants on the show, in a performance that received a standing ovation from the four mentors of Kids: Carlão, Aurea, Bárbara Tinoco and Fernando Daniel.
“It was with great pleasure that I received an invitation from RTP to be a judge in this year’s edition of The Voice Gerações. I’m a big fan of the show. I grew up in a family of fado singers and started singing fado under the influence of my grandmother and aunt. That’s why I know what it’s like to sing and respect the generation that preceded us. I wish all the participants the best of luck and I will give the other judges a lot of fight to have the best ones with me.”
The Voice Generations is a version of the talent contest that gives opportunity to family or groups of friends of different ages to participate.
Remember that Sara Correia sold out the CCB on the 27th of May and already has her next concert in her own name equally sold out, at Casa da Música on the 17th of June. This year, the fado singer released a single, “Bocas do Mundo”, in collaboration with flamenco star Israel Fernández, and is preparing to release a new song very soon.
