2024 tends to end as it began. The Liberdade Tour, with around 80 concerts scheduled, has been performed with sold-out venues throughout the country and the world. When it started, still in 2023, the new tour of Sara Correia, the audience at Theatro Circo in Braga and Cineteatro in Estarreja set the tone for what is the biggest tour of the fado singer to date.
In 2024, auditoriums and theatres in Olhão, London, Oliveira de Azeméis, Bragança, Vila Real, Covilhã, and Espinho are already sold out, with the highlight being the Coliseu in Lisbon where she filled 3 consecutive dates, becoming the first artist to achieve this feat on her debut at this iconic venue. The Coliseu in Porto also sold out during the fado singer’s visit to the historic venue, on her debut, captivated.
Summer and outdoor concerts brought in crowds. Thousands of people who silenced to listen to fado and then vibrated to sing in unison songs like “Chelas,” which became an anthem for all neighbourhoods of the world.
Now, returning to the theatres, the venues have once again sold out. São João da Madeira, Carregal do Sal, Figueira da Foz, Ovar, Ermesinde, and more recently Guarda, which sold out in just 4 minutes, forcing the announcement of a second date.
Sara Correia returns to Lisbon on November 25 for a concert at Teatro São Luiz, and here too, very few tickets remain, a sign that the Liberdade Tour shows no sign of slowing down.
On October 25, the reissue of the album “Liberdade” will be released, precisely with the live recording of this tour that has attracted so many people. The concert included in “+Liberdade” was recorded at the Coliseu in Porto, and the reissue presents 3 tracks that were not included in a full-length album: “Chelas” with Gloria Groove, “Bocas do Mundo” with Israel Fernández, and “E Depois do Adeus,” recorded for the 50th anniversary of April 25. In addition to these, the live concert also features fado songs that have not yet been recorded, such as “Eu Quero.” After the success of “Liberdade,” both on disc and on stage, this “+Liberdade” will bring to the hundreds of thousands of people who saw Sara Correia live a unique opportunity to relive the great voice.
