Sara Gonçalves and Cremilda Medina will join their voices on stage for an unforgettable night in a unique concert that celebrates the musical richness of Portugal and Cape Verde, where they will present a repertoire that will take us on a journey through the deepest feelings of the Portuguese-speaking soul. Fado and Morna are two musical genres that transcend borders and deeply touch the souls of those who listen to them. Recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, both carry with them the history, traditions and feelings of the Portuguese and Cape Verdean peoples, respectively. Despite their differences, Fado and Morna share a deep historical and cultural connection.

Sara Gonçalves, with a consolidated career in the world of Fado, owner of an expressive voice and a striking presence on stage, and Cremilda Medina, considered the Voice of Morna of the new generation of Cape Verdean singers, with a sweet voice and an unmistakable style and presence, join Ricardo J. Martins on the Portuguese Guitar and Bruno Davide on the Classical Guitar to bring to Quarteira the sounds that unite Portugal and Cape Verde.

“… Fado and Morna have a lot in common, for me they are the musical styles that best portray the Portuguese people and the Cape Verdean people, and I am sure it will be a night full of feeling…” said Cremilda.

The Quarteira Summer Market is organized by the Loulé City Council, with support from the Quarteira Parish Council.
