Sara Rocha is National Pool Champion
Sara Rocha (Bracara Academia, Braga) revalidated on Thursday night the title of national women’s pool champion, which had belonged to her since 2019 – in 2020, and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there was no proof – by winning in the final of the competition, organized by the Portuguese Billiard Federation and held at the Hotel das Termas da Curia (Anadia), by 6-3, Helena Moreira (Pool Master, Porto).
It is the 15th national title for the 40-year-old athlete from Braga – two-time European Pool champion for Portugal, teaming up with Vânia Oliveira Franco (FC Porto) – and the 31st in her total career, between individual and individual titles. teams, for Sara Rocha.
In the Group stage, and playing the ’10 Ball’ discipline, Sara Rocha beat Ágata Castro (FC Porto) and Inês Silva (Rio Tinto), both for the same result: 5-2. In the semi-finals of the competition at Curia, she got the better of ‘negra’ (6-5) over Vânia Franco (FC Porto) to win the trophy.
