Sarah McCoy, a powerful voice, back in Lisbon

Teatro Maria Matos

Sarah McCoy returned to Portugal to present “High Priestess” at the Teatro Maria Matos, her last work, the night in which she released her powerful voice, showing her sensuality and corrosive humor, in a great concert.

“High Priestess” was produced by Renaud Letang who has worked with Feist, Manu Chao, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Jane Birkin and who had already produced “Blood Siren”, this work also features the collaboration of Canadian pianist Chilly Gonzales and with whom Sarah usually shares stages all over the world.

The singer performed alone on stage, with her piano, in a very intimate concert, exposing herself to the public without restrictions, which, on several occasions, led to laughter, due to her corrosive humor, where there are no taboo subjects, fortunately, it was explaining the origin of their themes, whether fears, joys or sadness.

An excellent concert that passed through Bragança, Covilhã, and Pombal before reaching Lisbon, and it was, with ‘I am Here’ on her knees in the middle of the stage that Sarah opened the concert, followed by ‘Hell is a Kiss’ and ‘Lá Fenêtre’ this one from his last work.

The audience surrendered to the powerful voice, applauded, and reacted, generously, to the comments of the American singer, to which Sarah responded with joy and humor, the concert, had an alignment, which was passing between the themes of “Blood Siren ” and “High Priestess”, leaving for the end ‘Fearless’ with which he said goodbye to the Portuguese public.
