WOW presents summer program
While the seven museums of WOW are a constant feature of the cultural quarter, it is certain that gastronomic activities combined with the privileged view are another of the great attractions.
WOW therefore proposes, for this summer, a series of events that highlight Portuguese gastronomy. Namely: the Sardine, Francesinha and Smoked Meat Festivals are coming up.
On June 1st, from 12 pm to 10 pm, the Sardine Festival will take place at VP. Guests will be able to enjoy a dish with five sardines and a drink for 14 euros on checkered tablecloths. Along with traditional music and the most beautiful view of the Porto waterfront.
“In the summer, we want to gather friends and family around the table, we want to enjoy the good weather and, preferably, with good snacks on the table. It was with this in mind, and to give the city a real summer feel, that we created a series of festivals around the best typical Portuguese snacks. We want people to feel as comfortable as at home and as happy as at a country fair”, explains Cláudio Sousa, WOW’s restaurant director.
On June 14th and 15th, the Francesinha Festival is back, where, in addition to the gastronomic attractions, music is guaranteed and promises to reinforce the authentic character of the festival. The menu of a francesinha of your choice, with potatoes included, and a drink (beer or soft drink) costs 15 euros. This event will be repeated on September 6th and 7th.
On August 2nd and 3rd, the Tasquinhas Festival will join in, with Portuguese tapas – from gizzards to rojões, the most typical dishes will be on display. On the 16th and 17th of the same month, the Smoked Meat Festival will take place, always at the same times: from 12 pm to 10 pm.
Sunset parties to celebrate the WOW side of life
In addition to the gastronomy, WOW will host a series of Sunset Parties on the VP balcony, on May 18th, July 5th and 19th, August 23rd and 30th, and September 13th. The themes and musical protagonists will always be different, and the time will remain the same: from 3 pm to 10 pm. All additional information will always be available at wow.pt.
