The Waking Life music and art festival begins this Wednesday at Crato with an alignment of dozens of artists ranging from Alfa Mist to Zozo to Andy Stott and Jan Jelinek.
The second edition of Waking Life will take place between now and Sunday in a forest and on the edge of a lake in the district of Portalegre and will feature this year with more than a hundred performances by musicians and DJs, with a particular focus on electronic music, from minimal techno to trance, although there are still proposals that come together with jazz and African music.
Music is only one aspect of this festival, which is proposed as a platform for other artistic interventions in the area and promote an “immersive experience” with sustainable practices and close to nature.
The poster includes names like Belgian AMyn, German Jan Jelinek, British Andy Stott, German duo Discodromo and some national artists, namely Dexter, Mike Stellar, Psychedelic Cachupa and Magnetic Mountain.
“The idea behind Waking Life is to make it easier to create a space where music, creativity and co-creation come together and where humans and nonhumans everywhere are free to” be on the official website.
Do not make fire, save on water consumption, leave no trace in the enclosure and disconnect from the digital world are some of the recommendations left by the organization.
