Seferovic’s hat-trick leaves Belgium and qualifies Switzerland for the final four

Benfica forward in great prominence.

Switzerland secured a place in the final four of the League of Nations on Sunday after beating Belgium (5-2) in a crazy game. The Belgians even got better in the match and in the 20 minutes were already winning by two goals ahead, both pointed by Thorgan Hazard, but the best is yet to come.

From there, the Swiss took control of the match and only gave … Switzerland. Before the interval, Ricardo Rodríguez and Seferovic, in double dose, completed the somersault in the marker.

However, the result in the return to the baths (3-2), was still insufficient for the Swiss due to the difference of goals. To qualify, the formation of Switzerland had to win by two goals difference.

The goal was ambitious, but Petkovic’s side did well and scored two more goals in the second half, with Seferovic closing the game (and qualifying) in the 84th minute. In 90 ‘, the forward Benfica was replaced and received a great ovation from the stands.

The result remained until the end and the Swiss are thus prepared for the final four that will be played in Portugal. In a final phase where there are already Portugal, England and now Switzerland, there is only one vacancy to close the restricted lot: France or Holland.
