SEGA anticipates and presents the official video game of the Olympic Games
As is traditional, SEGA retains the rights to the official Olympic Games license, and this year, “playing at home” in Tokyo, the Japanese publisher decided to discard Sonic and Mario as protagonists of the video game adaptation.
Thus, the official game Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game, which will arrive on PC and consoles on June 22, will be based on real elements, or at least, almost.
The game has a cartoon aspect and athletes can unlock the most exotic costumes possible for the races, and through the trailer, even dressed as an astronaut or pirate can run. The game promises a detailed avatar editor with more than 100 items to choose from, including national outfits. It also has multiplayer support, both local and online, for up to eight players.
In all, the official game features 18 Olympic sports, promising to channel sportsmanship and positivity among athletes. Especially for its strong multiplayer component, which promotes healthy competition between friends and family, who seek to replicate the exploits of real athletes.
The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, for 39.99 euros, starting on June 22nd.
