From the 2nd to the 6th of June, Seiva Trupe presents the play “Éramos Todas Azucenas” by Zinaida Gambaro, with translation and staging by Castro Guedes, at the Company’s new residence, Sala Estúdio Perpétuo.
A woman, in her mid-40s, enters the scene. It is supposed to see him address the public in an accusatory libel against the crimes of the Argentine dictatorship in the 1970s. Lost amidst the pain of a mother who does not know her son’s whereabouts, the dreams of youth and the joy of childhood, she evokes the events with repulsion and a passion for Buenos Aires and its myths. The stage becomes a bar for a court, a school, a parliament, a place for a press conference, but above all the neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires. In a challenging interpretation exercise for the actress and subtle for the spectator.
