On the 27th of January, the Rooftop of Selina Secret Garden will be the stage for a solidarity concert, with musicians from Afghanistan, who are refugees in Portugal, and who dream of developing a musical career in our country.
This initiative is in line with the Selina spirit and its purpose of creating meaningful connections wherever it operates.
Scheduled to start at 6 pm, the night begins with a performance by DJ Ippolito, and from 7 pm, the Rooftop of Selina Secret Garden is filled with Afghan sounds, which intend to keep Afghan traditions and music alive, supporting this group of young musicians, who arrived in Portugal in 2021 and struggle daily with the difficulties of adapting in a foreign country, which welcomed them as refugees.
The access ticket to this concert costs €12 and must be purchased in advance on the Selina website. In addition to the ticket for the solidarity concert, on the day of the event, there will also be a special cocktail, available on the Rooftop menu, the cost of which will also be raised in its entirety for young musicians.
Zoë Böckler, Impact and Cowork Supervisor at Selina Secret Garden believe that: “In a world in constant shock and in an environment of still great uncertainty, it is necessary to make a difference and help those who really need it. In our case, we try to support these communities, raising the cultural traditions of those who, unfortunately, are far from their country and, often, from their families. We couldn’t be more proud to be the home of these musicians, even for a few hours, giving the stage to their talent and their history. Creating new and strong connections between people, places, and communities is now more important than ever.”
Alongside this Selina initiative, an online platform is also available where direct donations can be made.
Always confirm with the concert hall or promoter the conditions of access, confirmation of the date or time, tickets place of sale, price, and availability.
