Suckling Pig Week at Zunzum starts next Sunday. Chef Marlene Vieira proposes a special menu, where the suckling pig is the star.
This is Zunzum’s second themed week, which throughout the year aims to pay homage to traditional Portuguese ingredients or dishes with exclusive menus, available only for a short period of time.
Suckling pig thus appears as one of the protagonists, straight from the memories of Chef Marlene Vieira, who says she remembers suckling pig Bairrada on her table forever.
From March 23rd to 30th, there will be six special dishes to try, for lunch or dinner: suckling pig croquette, orange chutney (2 units – €8), Suckling pig escabeche and chips (€12), Suckling pig gyosas (4 units – €12) Ramen with suckling pig (€18), and Pulled pork with suckling pig, cucumber pickles and cabbage salad (€17).
The incomparable King of Piglets joins the event, as expected, and will be accompanied by two of his most iconic delicacies. The Suckling Pig Rissois (2 units: €8) and the Bairrada Roasted Suckling Pig (300g: €28) will be served on March 29th.
To accompany the entire experience, in addition to the usual wine list, Zunzum suggests the Espumante São Domingos Reserva, for a perfect pairing.
