The CAN Africa Cup of Nations of beach soccer will be played, this year, in Senegal, African champion in title and unique candidate to organize the competition.
[dropcap]S[/dropcap]enegal, crowned five times in this event, and winner of the 1st African Beach Games held on the island of Sal (Cape Verde), was designated as organizing country by the African Football Confederation (CAF), during the meeting of its executive committee.
According to the regulations, this CAN will bring together eight teams and the two finalists will represent Africa at the Beach Soccer World Cup scheduled for Russia in 2021.
Uganda, initially selected to host the competition, eventually gave up.
