The 10th edition of the 2018 Fall Festival in Oporto received almost 60,000 visitors, once again beating the record of affluence, the Serralves Foundation announced today.
“The final number of visitors to the 2018 Autumn Festival was 59,926, hitting the record again,” reads a statement from the organization.
More than 90% of the interviewed visitors who visited the event stated that they wanted to return to the next edition of the Serralves Autumn Festival, indicates a study of publics and impact in the region of the Serralves Autumn Festival, conducted by ISAG-European Research Center Business School (NIDISAG).
Asked about the aspects that stand out most in the event and that justify its attractiveness and success, the visitors pointed out the quality and diversity of the program, the influence of the children and “Ser Serralves”, according to the same study.
The level of satisfaction registered was 4.4 on a scale of 1 to 5.
The study concludes that visitors who passed through the Autumn Festival highlight the positive contribution of the event in the promotion of Serralves, in the city of Oporto, and the positive impact it generates on tourism, the promotion of cultural diversity, arts and shows, as well as recovery traditions and experiences.
The second and final day of the Fall Festival ended with a concert at 6:00 pm at the Prado of the “super-band” of Portuguese popular music, which includes B Fachada, Éme, Sallo, Maria Reis and Lourenço Crespo.
With free admission, except for the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Autumn Festival, with 21 partners, of which 12 are city councils, is part of the program of the European Heritage Days 2018, this year under the theme “Share memories”.
This year, according to the Government’s order published on June 18 in Diário da República, the Serralves Foundation receives a total of 4,270 million euros, as part of the transfers to the foundations, provided for by the State Budget, from the Cultural Development Fund and the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage.
In January 2017, the Ministry of Culture also published a decree, authorizing the Cultural Development Fund to transfer to the Serralves Foundation 500 thousand euros per year, from 2016 to 2018, for the acquisition of works for the institution.
