Sétima Legião opens extra date for the Capitólio
There are no longer any tickets available for the Sétima Legião concert scheduled for March 22nd, at the Capitólio in Lisbon. However, we have good news for the many fans who were unable to buy tickets in time: the show repeats the following day, in the same location and tickets are now on sale!
In this return, the Sétima Legião of Pedro Oliveira (voice and guitar), Rodrigo Leão (bass and keys), Nuno Cruz (drums, percussion), Gabriel Gomes (accordion), Paulo Tato Marinho (bagpipes, flutes), Paulo Abelho (percussion, samplers) and Francisco Menezes (lyrics, choirs) also welcomes João Eleutério, an experienced musician who has travelled the world as part of Rodrigo Leão’s band and who will now provide keyboards.
It was in 1982 that Sétima Legião appeared in the then very busy Portuguese music scene, presenting a unique vision of music in tune with the most advanced experiences of alternative pop at the time, but without forgetting the Portuguese identity. The band left a strong mark on national musical production in the 80s and 90s. With these anniversary concerts, Sétima Legião intends to revisit its most acclaimed classics and give new life to songs such as “Sete Mares” or “Por Quem Não Esqueci”, huge impact hits that still have a guaranteed place on many radio stations today. It should be noted that musicians emerged from the Sétima Legião who became involved in unique projects in Portuguese music such as Madredeus, Gaiteiros de Lisboa or Cindy Kat, proof that important ideas were rehearsed there that generated fertile offspring.
