Closed since March 14, museum spaces, palaces, national monuments and art galleries may reopen, within the scope of the deconfinition program approved by the Government at the end of April, with hygiene and safety standards adapted to their size.
The mandatory use of masks, the hygiene of hands and spaces, are accompanied by signaled circuits, the previous estimate of the duration of visits and the limitation of one person per 20 square meters. Card payments, abolition of classroom sheets are other existing recommendations, as well as the postponement of the opening of non-essential services, such as education.
In the reopening of the National Museum of Ancient Art, in Lisbon, the presentation of the “house” for the future restoration of the Panels of São Vicente will be made, an unprecedented work by Domingos Sequeira will be presented and a temporary exhibition by Julião Sarmento will be inaugurated in Lisbon.
At the National Museum of Contemporary Art – Museu do Chiado (MNAC), also in the capital, in addition to the exhibitions already on display, and which are still in place, the new exhibition, “Nos Palcos da Passion “, in partnership with the National Museum of Theater and Dance.
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, for its part, will reopen the Founder’s Collection – the Museum – and resume the temporary exhibition “The Golden Age of French Furniture”, following the rules for limiting the number of visitors.
It will also present an online commemorative program that includes music, dance, ‘performances’, testimonials, out of hours visits and conversations with artists and those in charge of national and foreign museums.
As for the Museum’s Modern Collection space, it will remain behind closed doors, anticipating the closure planned for the remodeling works that will connect the building to the new Gulbenkian Garden.
As for the Berardo Collection Museum, it also reopens today with free admission to the collection and temporary exhibitions.
The Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) will present the project “Nyege Nyege: Uma Nova Esperança”, the first chapter of the new music and sound program, entitled “Terra Irada”, on the Youtube channel.
In Porto, all Serralves spaces will also reopen, at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, and the exhibition “Lourdes Castro: Life is as it is!” Will be inaugurated.
