Short film ‘Portugal Pequeno’ awarded at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival

The film “Seja como for”, by Portuguese director Catarina Romano, was also in the international competition of the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, which started on January 29, in an online format only due to the covid-19 pandemic.

According to the honors of this 43rd edition of the event dedicated to short films, the film written and directed by Victor Quintanilha received a special mention from the international jury of the festival.

“Portugal Pequeno”, produced in Niterói, a municipality in the metropolitan area of ​​Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, had its premiere at the 31st São Paulo International Short Film Festival, which took place between August 20 and 30, 2020, also in online format.

The festival attributed the International Grand Prix to the short “Sestre”, by Katarina Resek, the National Grand Prix went to “Mat et les Gravitante”, by Pauline Penichout, the Best European Film Prize was awarded to “Dalej Jest Dzien”, by Damien Kocuro, and the Best Animation award went to “Affairs of the Art”, by Joanna Quinn.

The program only took place online, from the festival’s website, and only in French territory, due to rights, with “Seja como for“, by Catarina Romano, which debuted in international competition.
