“Noites de Verão” in Gaia postponed to August
The Vila Nova de Gaia City Council decided to postpone until August the program “Summer Nights” announced for July, which included concerts at the Lavandeira stadium.
At issue is a program initially designed for July 10 to August 1, with national artists such as Mariza, Xutos and Pontapés, Pedro Abrunhosa, Miguel Araújo, Carolina Deslandes, Ana Moura, José Cid and Herman José.
The led autarchy points out that the municipality of Gaia assumed a support for the organization of ‘Summer Nights’, a closed event at the Lavandeira stadium, with a reduced public and with all the DGS security measures, stressing that this event was planned in a timely manner , in order to ensure the artists and at a time when the pandemic situation seemed totally controlled.
In the publication that announced “Summer Nights”, it was read that the event was intended to be a turning point in this new phase of lack of definition, leading the city to culture through music.
The postponement announced, it is said that Gaia has had residual numbers and a very positive trend, but realizes the need to maintain caution, given the difficulty of controlling some excesses that occur at this stage.
