Silly premieres “Miguela” live with a concert at CCB’s Pequeno Auditorium, on February 10th, at 9 pm. The songs that make up the album, to be edited the day before the show, come to life on stage, in duo format, face to face with Fred, supported essentially by the electronics of SPDS’s, MPC and keyboards, in a performance full of new musical environments for the Silly’s words.
This “première” will feature the special participation of David Jacinto (TV Rural) and the string quartet of Joana Correia (cello), which also includes Clara Gomes (first violin), João Paulo Gaspar (viola) and Francisco Ramos (second violin).
A trip to Silly’s universe!
Since last summer, Silly took on the new challenge of creating the first feature film of her career, Miguela. With two singles already revealed from this trip, “Coisas Fracas” and “Cavalo à Solta”, “Herança” is now released, the third new release from the artist’s excellent collaboration with Fred, musician and producer who is part of projects such as Orelha Negra, Banda do Sea and Buraka Sound System.
“Herança” is a luminous single that demonstrates the potential of Silly’s first album. On the one hand, the artist maintains her more poetic cadence, a legacy of hip hop and the words that are so important in her music; on the other, it explores her voice like never before, with a melodic chorus that is truly sublime. In Silly’s words, “this is a happy song that was born last summer and that elevates the harmony of a life surrounded by love”.
The new song also has a strong orchestral component, balancing piano, strings, winds and percussion, in a single full of musical textures that were born to combine. In this elegant song, one can notice the immense care and detail with which all the pieces were moulded, with a remarkable production by Fred, which highlights both his experience and talent and Silly’s maturity and evolution. “Herança” is another auspicious advancement of an elaborate and deeply honest album that has everything to be one of the biggest events in Portuguese music in 2024.
