Single “Amá sem Mêde” by Cremilda Medina anticipates new album

After the success of her first album “Folclore” published in 2017 with which she obtained national and international recognition, the singer Cape Verdiana Cremilda Medina is back with another single from her next album that will be released this year.

After in 2018 editing the first single “Nôs Morna” by the composer Manuel de Novas, a morna in a duet with the singer Tito Paris that earned him in 2019 the prize for “World Music” in the USA, now comes the turn of “Amá Sem Mêde ”, a composition by Morgadinho, published last December, the month in which the first anniversary of the morna was celebrated as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO).

Thus, two themes that will be part of his next album, two Mornas, are already known, which suggests that the same traditional line as his predecessor “Folclore” will be followed.

“Amá sem Mêde”, reveals Cremilda Medina “is a theme that speaks of love, where the need to love is highlighted. This is the main message that the theme conveys, love, the ability to love someone, to know how to love unconditionally. because after all without love the world becomes sad and poorer.”

The new album was supposed to be released in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the date was changed to this year, “we had to rethink the project dates, as it would make no sense for me to edit an album and then not be able to present it on stage, we hope that its edition will be possible this year…” says Cremilda Medina.
