Sintra hosts the 8th edition of MUSCRIUM – Festival of Performing Arts, this year in a renewed format, which takes place from the 29th of August to the 25th of September.
Over four weeks, MUSCRIUM will have four artists invited to develop their work in different locations in the municipality of Sintra. In addition to these artistic residencies, which will feature sessions open to the public, there will also be space for the usual presentation of theater, dance, and concerts.
AMAS – António Silva Municipal Auditorium, Sintra Theater House, Teatroesfera, Casa da Marioneta and Largo da República, the last two in Agualva-Cacém, are the venues chosen to host the various shows.
MUSCARIUM, a festival organized by Teatromosca with the support of the Municipality of Sintra, has recently received the European Quality Seal for Notable Festivals.
In this edition, it assumes itself as a space for research, investigation, and artistic experimentation, privileging contemporary creation through the promotion of artistic residencies and continuing to open the doors to dialogue between artists/collectives and audiences. This year, the festival also presents shows in different stages of development, with some still being created, the Ensaios Abertos, and the rest already completed.
