Sintra integrates the training program of Turismo de Portugal
The Municipality of Sintra approved the protocol with Turismo de Portugal for the implementation of the “Training + Near” Program in the municipality.
The “Training + Near” program, which is carried out through the Estoril Hotel and Tourism School, aims to massively train employees in the sector in a closer way with content adapted to the needs of the future, and to the diversity of companies. of tourism.
Aimed at entrepreneurs, sector agents, promoters of tourist accommodation, tourist entertainment and municipal workers in the tourism sector, the program guarantees a reinforcement of their qualifications and trains companies and agents in the sector in the “art of hospitality“, through the development of training content in the areas of soft and hard skills.
The mayor, Basílio Horta, stresses that “in a context in which the tourist reality is changing profoundly, there is a need to find new paths and strategies, and this program presents itself as an asset for the municipality.”
The program intends to decentralize training in tourism and adapt it to local needs, throughout the national territory, to the diversity of companies in the sector and to be extended to the entire tourism value chain, in a training program that is closer to people and of the needs of the territories.
