Sintra Portugal Pro brings together the best bodyboarders in the world

Praia Grande, in Sintra, is once again the stage for the 25th edition of Sintra Portugal Pro, from 7th to 12th September.

This competition will award the world title of the dropknee variant at the same time that it will be part of the IBC World Cup, a competition that takes the place of the World Bodyboard in 2021, however canceled for the second consecutive year due to the current pandemic context. In addition to dropknee, we will have the Open, Women and Pro Junior categories in the water.

Sintra Portugal Pro, a historical event of world bodyboard, which celebrates 25 years of existence, will bring together a real embassy of the sport, with 125 entries from 19 nationalities less than a week before the start of the competition.

Among the Portuguese already registered, national champions Daniel Fonseca and Joana Schenker stand out, but also a reference to Miguel Ferreira, former European Junior Champion, or Ricardo Rosmaninho, one of the most consistent candidates for the national title in recent years and owner of some excellent performances in Sintra Portugal Pro, in the past.

Among the places in Praia Grande, the already usual presence of Renato Paço. The best Portuguese in the world ranking of Dropknee in 2019 (21st) returns to defend the honor of the municipality of Sintra and the national colors in this prestigious event.

Expectations for the show are the best, with the entry of a swell to coincide precisely with the start of the championship.

The Municipality of Sintra is associated with the organization of Sintra Portugal Pro, which is considered the oldest wave sports event held in Portugal.
