A politically motivated murder case rocks the nation: Grzegorz Przemyk, a student and activist, is beaten to death by police forces. Leave No Traces tells the story of the only witness to this crime, who soon becomes the victim of intense persecution by the media, legal and military apparatus of the communist regime.

In an atmosphere of great happiness, Claudio and Carmela celebrate their daughter’s 18th birthday, surrounded by family and friends, including their youngest daughter, 15-year-old Chiara. However, the next day, her father disappears, profoundly altering the family stability. Dissatisfied with the story being told, Chiara begins her investigation, but as she gets closer to the truth, she is forced to decide the future she wants for herself.

Later, at 6 pm, the film “A História da Minha Mulher”, by Ildikó Enyedi, will be screened. Produced in 2021, this film is in the Official Selection – Out of Competition of the 15th edition of the LEFFEST.

Jacob Störr (Gijs Naber), a naval captain, makes a bet with a friend: he will marry the first woman who walks into the cafe where they meet. That’s when Lizzy (Léa Seydoux) arrives. Suspicion of infidelities and Lizzy’s visible attraction to Dedin (Louis Garrel) threaten to condemn the captain to madness.

At 9.30 pm, it is the turn of the film “The Power of The Dog”, by Jane Campion, included in the Tribute and Retrospectives to the Director.

1925. A historiographically extinct Old West remains as a myth of violence and Creation. In the state of Montana, two brothers take care of the family’s ranch, where they sleep from an early age in the same room. Tall, fierce and relentless, Phil Burbank (Benedict Cumberbatch) has his perfect negative in the generosity and quietness of George (Jesse Plemons). The relationship between the brothers, already an insurmountable abyss, will be put to the test with the entry into the scene of two new characters: a young widow (Kirsten Dunst) and her son (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

The LEFFEST – Lisbon & Sintra Film takes place from the 10th to the 21st of November with a program guided by the best that is done in the 7th art world.
