Sintra City Council promotes the Opera Cycle, with a free concert, Bastien & Bastienne, this Sunday, the 25th at 18:00, at the Olga Cadaval Cultural Centre.
It is an opera sung in Portuguese, accompanied by a string ensemble.
This one-act opera (Singspiel) by Mozart has a libretto by Weiskern, Müller and Schachtner and is based on Favart and Guerville’s “Les amours de Bastien et Bastienne”.
Composed in his youth, this piece propelled Mozart to his later works. With a melodic unity that is established in a natural way, it allows to identify the characterization of each character, through musical resources.
The Opera Cycle is a set of 8 free concerts, which will take place until October 31st, at the Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval.
This initiative promoted by the municipality replaces, in a different format, the “Óperas na Rua”, canceled due to the increase in cases by Covid-19 and the measures implemented to combat this outbreak. In this way, the municipality of Sintra maintains its strategy of democratizing access to shows and culture. Aimed at all tastes and ages, this initiative aims to involve and surprise spectators.
Access to the concerts that make up this initiative requires advance reservation exclusively on the Ticketline website. Tickets are limited to the available capacity and restricted to two tickets per person.
