Sixth edition of Westway Lab brings together audiences and music professionals
The sixth Westway Lab will reunite in Guimarães, from today, public and professionals of the sector of the music for four days, during which they will realize concerts, artistic residences, and conferences.
Until Saturday, Centro Cultural Vila Flor will receive performances by names like Jacco Gardner (who is in charge of opening the event), Violetta Zironi, Julia Holter with Tashi Wada Group, among others, in addition to the national The Happy Mess, Vaarwell, Holy Nothing or The Black Mamba.
During the presentation of the event, at the end of March, the festival’s artistic director, Rui Torrinha, said that the event will have a total of 29 concerts and aims to “extend to the whole city”, being “a festival of city and territory “.
According to Rui Torrinha, this is a festival based on three ‘P’: Process (artistic residences), Thought (conferences) and Product (Concerts).
“Over the four days of the event, the professional dimension of thinking in this 6th edition lines up 14 conferences – including the annual panel of agents and festivals this year with the CMW – Canadian Music Week, BIME – Bilbao International Music Experience, who comes to Portugal for a special announcement with WHY Portugal, and Mastering the Music Business Bucharest, “the organization said in a statement, adding that the Eurosonic and SXSW festivals will also be present.
