Thursday: from 5 pm
After a year of interregnum for restructuring, in 2019 the VOA – Heavy Rock Festival celebrates ten years of existence and moves to Restelo Stadium. The event takes place on July 4 and 5, 2019, two days that promise to celebrate the true spirit of the great rock and metal concerts that have marked the history of live music in Portugal in the last decades.
The Slipknot are the first confirmed band at the festival, performing at the Restelo Stadium on July 4. Precursors of the nu-metal, the group is one of the most iconic and successful names of the wave that, in the second half of the decade of 90, took to assault the scenery of the most extreme music. Originally from Des Moines, in the Midwest, the nine masqueraders quickly established themselves as one of the most enigmatic and provocative proposals of the modern era of music, which would mark an entire generation of audiences and musicians. 2019 will be a very special year for the band, with a new album in the pipeline and the twentieth anniversary of the self-titled debut album.
The first day’s festival lineup also includes performances by Arch Enemy, Trivium, Thormentor, While She Sleeps and Trait.
