Sofia Escobar returns to the National Theaters
Sofia Escobar returns to Portugal in the last months of the year to perform a series of concerts in various National Theaters and Showrooms.
Residing in Madrid, the singer who has played numerous characters in West End and Broadway musicals such as West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, El Médico, among others, is one of the most beautiful and virtuous voices of Portugal.
During this festive season, Sofia Escobar offers a unique experience of music and emotion, with different concert formats, from intimate performances in a piano and voice duet to grander ones accompanied by a Symphony Orchestra or a Philharmonic Band.
Her schedule is being updated and filled with themed Christmas and New Year concerts, perfect for highlighting these celebrations and private events that aim to be elegant, glamorous, and thus unforgettable.

With an acclaimed international career recognized for being one of the best leading ladies in Musical Theatre in the UK and Spain, she has received several awards for the quality of her performances, including a nomination for a “Laurence Olivier” as well as the Broadway World | Spain Audience Award.
In 2022, she launched her first album of originals – TANTO MAIS – recorded with a 35-piece orchestra and resulting from the involvement of a collective of composers, lyricists, and musicians in the conception of her new Sound Universe.
The songs are performed in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and composed by Renato Júnior, Hélder Godinho, Jasmim Teixeira, Artur Guimarães, and Sofia Escobar herself. The lyrics were written by Gonzalo Ramos, Hélder Godinho, Mariana Vital, Marina Ferraz, Sofia Escobar, and Tiago Torres da Silva.
With her talent and versatility, her concerts have adapted to different performing contexts and offer a diverse repertoire that ranges from classical and popular pieces revisiting the most beautiful melodies from musicals like Cats, Phantom of the Opera, The Wizard of Oz, Evita, Les Misérables, West Side Story, to the sounds of soundtracks by Ennio Morricone, including original songs from her album – Tanto Mais.
Among the various artists she has collaborated with are John Owen Jones, José Carreras, Filipe Raposo, FF, Carlos Cardoso, Geronimo Rauch, Ana Bacalhau, Katia Guerreiro, Maria João, Mafalda Veiga, Aurea, Rita Redshoes, Viviane, Carlão | Da Weasel, Ricardo Afonso, Nelson Ebo, Li Yi, among others…
