Cape Verdean artist Soraia Ramos won the “Best Central African Artist” award at the 6th edition of the African Muzik Magazine Awards 2020 (AFRIMMA), held in Texas, United States of America.
[dropcap]D[/dropcap]ue to the situation of the pandemic, the awards gala took place online, with the artist presenting virtually the fans with the single “Bai”, recorded in Cape Verde and which already has more than 15 million views on YouTube.
The Santomean brothers, of Cape Verdean origin, Calema, also took home the title of “Best Lusophone”, at the ceremony that took place on November 15th.
In this edition, it is worth mentioning the Master KG award (South Africa) that took home the biggest prizes that include Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Man in South Africa and Best Collaboration with Burna Boy in the remix of “Jerusalema”.
African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) is the only award ceremony in the diaspora that caters to all musical genres, including afrobeats, assiko, bongo, decal, funaná, genge, highlife, hiplife, kwaito, lingala and soukous.
