Sporting de Braga, leaders of the Main League, and Benfica in the second division face each other in the semi-finals of the Portuguese Women’s Cup, led the draw held today in the City of Soccer in Oeiras.
The first meeting is scheduled for March 24, in the house of the ‘incarnates’, and the second for April 20, in the field of Braga.
The other semi-final will oppose Valadares Gaia, seventh in the main division, to Clube Albergaria, fourth, with first-hand opponents.
On Sunday, in the quarter-finals, Benfica thrashed Ouriense in the Tapadinha by 16-0, having already ‘dispatched’ the Palmelense (20-0), Torreense (16-0), the first division Marítimo (5 -1 out) and the Ribeirão (21-0).
Counting all official matches in 2018/19, the formation ‘incarnate’ adds 21 wins, in 21 games, with 351 goals scored and only one suffered.
For their part, Sporting de Braga, finalist of the last two editions of the event, won 3-2, after prolongation, in the stronghold of Estoril Praia. Before, he had already beaten Ovarense (4-0 away) and Sporting (3-1), who had lost the last two finals.
