European champions Sporting and Portuguese champions Benfica are among seven candidates to host one of the group stages of the Futsal Champions League elite round, UEFA said on Wednesday.
In addition to lions and eagles, KPRF Moscva (Russia), Tyumen (Russia), El Pozo Murcia (Spain), Kairat Almaty (Kazakhstan) and Stalitsa Minsk (Belarus) will be able to organize this stage.
The seven teams are in pot 1, with the first four to be drawn at next Friday’s ceremony having the mission of organizing this phase of the competition, which will take place from 19 to 24 November.
The group stage of the Futsal Champions League Elite Round, it is recalled, is made up of four groups, with the top finishers each stamping their passport to the ‘final four’.
