Lions defeated Dynamo Bucharest in the second leg of the 16th finals.
After a positive result in the first leg in Lisbon (32-31), Sporting travelled to Romania knowing they would have a difficult encounter in the second leg of the 16-finals. But, the truth is, Sporting have passed the big test with distinction and made history in the Champions League in handball.
Sporting returned to defeating Dinamo Bucharest on 27-26 on Thursday to secure a place in the last 16 of the Champions League, a stage never reached by a Portuguese club in this current edition.
After having gone for half-time to lose by 11-15, the Alvalade club turned around and achieved a record-breaking turnaround, to thus emerge victorious from Romania.
